Upper South Creek Water Project
Upper South Creek Advanced Water Recycling Centre and Pipelines
The John Holland Group and Sydney Water approached us to provide a solution for the treatment of all wastewater effluent produced by workers at the Upper South Creek Water Recycling Project.
The systems have been designed to process effluent onsite for 300 workers over a 3-4 year period. At completion of the works, the systems and trenching will be removed leaving only worm eggs and castings onsite. Treating effluent this way gives the John Holland Group a gold standard in construction sustainability.
According to Sydney Water some of the key benefits from this project include:
- Efficient and cost-effective wastewater services
- Producing high-quality, recycled water for a range of potential reuses
- Potential to recycle organic waste to generate energy
- Protecting local waterways and aquatic ecosystems via environmental flows
- Producing biosolids for an alternative to chemical fertilisers in agriculture
- Enhancing biodiversity by greening Western Sydney with recycled water
